Marjorie Peterson, Darlene See and Daphne Wright Looking at Baskets

Summary:
A variety of baskets are shown, some are work baskets, others may be ceremonial or woven to sell.
Traditional Knowledge:

The basket in the foreground on the left is woven with red cedar warp and yellow cedar weft. This was woven in the "wallet" style similar to a present day tote bag. The pattern on the sides is called open weave of eye of the fish. It is most likely that this is not a Tlingit basket.
