Main Street Hoonah 1950

Summary:
In this photo of Main Street you can see the post lined roads built with log cribbing.
Cultural Narrative:

The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), a public work relief program formed in 1933 under President Roosevelt served rural areas throughout the U.S., built the roads after the depression. The white building on the right was the store, ran by Doris and Jack Templin. Doris was the sister of Jeanice Welch. It is thought that the couple walking on the street may be George and Jessie Dalton.
