Hoonah Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall

Built in 51 days all by local volunteers. Men, women and children all contributed to building the hall.
Traditional Knowledge:

Materials came from Excursion Inlet from the prisoner of war camp that was being dismantled. Hoonah seine boats transported the wood over from Excursion. David Williams, local master builder and carver helped design and build the hall. During the dedication ceremony the four corner posts were blessed by each clan and silver dollars were placed in each hole the posts were placed into.
