Ernie Jack and Lillian Marvin

Description: 

Ernie Jack has had a long career as a leader and representative of the Hoonah people.  He is a delegate for the Tlingit & Haida Central Council (1986 – present), Commissioner of Tlingit & Haida Housing Authority 1996 – 2005 and Chairman of its Board from 2002 – 2005.  Ernie was the Past First Vice President, ANB Grand Camp 1994 – 1996 and was on the Board of Directors of Huna Totem Corporation. 

Lillian Skáandá.aat Fawcett Marvin was born on August 31, 1938 in Hoonah, Alaska to Dorothy (Dalton) and Charles P. Fawcett. Lillian was T'akdeintaan of Yeil Kudee Hit (Raven's Nest House) and Wooshkeetaan Yádi.  Lillian worked for the State of Alaska Department of Revenue for many years. She was very kind, loving and eager to share stories and a laugh. She enjoyed crocheting, beading, sewing and making gifts and regalia for her numerous grandchildren. She happily participated in the Salvation Army Auxiliary Club and Our Aunties House.

Lillian was an ardent fan of Gold Medal basketball tournament and proudly attended her grandkids' sports events and performances. She was generous and often showed her love for her family by baking, sewing or creating gifts.

Lillian married Harvey Marvin on January 10, 1955.  They spent many of their early years together in Sitka before moving to Juneau. Together they raised their children Johanna, Charles, Dorothy, Leroy and Janice. After her mother's death, she also raised her brother, Peter Marvin, as her own.  She passed peacefully on February 3, 2014.
