Augustine Hinchman Served in the U.S. Army 2009-2011
Augustine Hinchman served in the U.S. Army from 2009 – 2011. She attended basic training in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for six months and four months in Fort Eustis, Virginia. Augustine was trained to be a Heavy Equipment and Machinery Operator. Augustine then received orders for overseas, to South Korea. She landed in Incheon, South Korea and went through orientation for ten days before continuing on to duty station in Waegwan, South Korea for one year. Augustine traveled all over South Korea and served at the border between North and South Korea. While serving in South Korea, she witnessed the mortars and was subjected to tear gas explosions. Augustine left Korea January 2010 and returned to Fort Story to finish her term as a (88h) Cargo Specialist.
