David Williams built his boat in Hoonah and used it for trolling, halibut fishing and seining. One of few boats converted for these three types of fisheries.
The Western Queen was captained by Richard Bean and then Victor Bean, Sr. and the Yankee was captained by Joe White, then John Hinchman, Sr., Paul Rudolph and Jumbo James, Sr.
The Karen Jean was captained by Joe White and then Jerry White, Sr. The boat was named after Karen and Jeanne Hinchman as the granddaughters of Joe White.
