Helen Peters, Tlingit name Kosteen, Chookaneidí, Xáatl Hít (Iceberg House) taught Eunice Glover how to put up food.  "She was my world, she took care of me, and she would watch over my kids, she was like a Mom to me."  

Helen was honored at the 2010 Alaska Federation of Natives Convention as an “Elders Who Shape Our Lives”.  Because Helen Peters was recognized as someone with "Honor, Respect, Tradition, Wellness, Teaching and Heritage" she was chosen as one of the honored recipients of the “Elders Who Shape Our Lives” award.
