Hoonah Houses 1948

Summary: 
Several houses unaffected by the tragic 1944 fire that burned down most of the town.
Cultural Narrative: 

In the top right of the photo sits the Russian Orthodox church that still stands in the same location. William and Mary Johnson owned the white house on the right before it became the James family home and now has been transformed into the Icy Strait Brewery. The white house partially showing across the street belonged to the Pratt family.  The brown house across the street belonged to Floyd Peterson's grandmother Malcolm. The white house across the street belonged to the Judson family. The small house on the beach side to the left has been different bars over the years, including Down the Beach, Kooteya and now the Office Bar.
