Roy Isturis was a paratrooper at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He finished in the Army Reserves in The Presidio, a U.S. Army military fort on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula in California.
Description: 

Roy Isturis was in service in the US Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne from January, 1957 to February, 1963.  He ended his military career as a Private, First Class and acting Corporal.  Mr. Isturis was initially stationed in Fort Brag, North Carolina.  He did two years active duty, then four more in reserve. 

Mr. Isturis wanted to become a Paratrooper.  For his physical, his sergeant asked “Isturis, can you see that fire hydrant over there?”  Isturis responded “Yes, Sir.”  “Then there’s nothing wrong with you physically.  Go see that doctor!”
