Annie was married to Lonnie Houston. She was Chookan sháa and her Tlingit name was X’ashkook’é. Annie is holding a Wolf Staff. She told her grandson Ralph Houston "Don't sell your heritage or culture". Amy Marvin was also Chookan sháa. She was Annie's tribal sister. They were both responsible for helping to educate all the children in Hoonah.
