The weavers took a break from weaving studies to view a collection of cultural items to be repatriated back to Hoonah.

The Hoonah weavers noted the four cylinders on top with ermine skins hanging down. It is suggested that the cylinders called skils, signify that the owner hosted four Ku.eex's.

Hoonah weavers travel to Washington, D.C. to study Tlingit basketry, including early design, material and technique.

In August 1935, the S.S. Aleutian stopped in Hoonah as part of their Southeast Alaska voyage. Locals sold their arts and crafts to the visitors.
